I love this first idea it is so easy to do. What a great way to mark the notebooks and make them different and color coordinate them with the folders. I can not tell you how many years I had to run to different stores to find the right color notebook.
This idea is amazing and will challenge the students as readers and writers. I tend to use the same words over and over and this is a great way to expand vocabulary in a colorful way. I hope my first graders can handle it.
